Marsha P. Johnson (1945-1992)
Marsha P. Johnson, also known at times as Malcolm Michaels Jr., was an American activist and a key figure in the Stonewall uprising of 1969, which launched the modern gay rights movement. They were a tireless advocate for the most vulnerable, including homeless LGBTQ+ youth and people with HIV/AIDS. Their life highlights the importance of inclusive advocacy and fighting for the rights of every member of a community.
